Professional Reps Chefs Earn First and Second Place in Ovention’s Rep Chef Recipe Contest

At Professional Reps, our culinary team plays a critical role in how we support dealers, operators, and manufacturers — translating equipment into real-world, demo-ready solutions that work in today’s kitchens. Recently, that commitment was recognized on a national stage.
Ovention recently hosted its Rep Chef Recipe Contest, a competition inviting rep chefs from across the country to create original recipes designed specifically for Ovention ovens. Entries were evaluated by Ovention’s culinary team based on creativity, effective oven usage, presentation, and real-world demo applicability.
We’re proud to share that two chefs from Professional Reps earned the top two spots in the contest.

🥇 First Place: Chef Travis Reidel
Professional Reps Midwest
Dish: Peruvian-Style Sous Vide Chicken Thighs with Aji Verde and Crispy Yuca Fries
Oven Used: Ovention MiLO2-16
Chef Travis Reidel’s first-place recipe showcased the power of the MiLO2-16 as a high-speed finishing oven for pre-cooked proteins. Using a sous vide workflow paired with aggressive ventless finishing, the dish delivered bold flavor, crisp textures, and consistent results — all while demonstrating how operators can execute complex plates efficiently in real kitchens.
The recipe was recognized for its smart use of Ovention technology, strong visual presentation, and clear applicability for live demos and operator education.
🥈 Second Place: Chef Angel Morales
Professional Reps Rocky Mountain
Dish: Crispy Pork Belly with Hot Honey Basil Glaze
Oven Used: Ovention Shuttle S2000
Chef Angel Morales earned second place with a recipe that balanced rich, rendered pork belly with sweet heat and fresh herbaceous notes. Designed for the Shuttle S2000, the dish highlighted precise temperature control, airflow management, and repeatable results — key factors in both customer demos and everyday kitchen execution.
The recipe stood out for its creativity, approachability, and strong demonstration value, making it an ideal example of how Ovention ovens support consistent, high-quality outcomes.
